Richard F. Crowe, P.G.A. - Head Golf Professional
Rich has been head PGA Golf Professional at Rockledge Golf Club for 31 years. During that time he has been the recipient of a number of Connecticut section awards, including PGA Golf Professional of the Year, the Bill Strausbaugh Award, Community Junior Golf Leader and Merchandiser of the Year. Rich was also the recipient of West Hartford’s Noah Webster Award for outstanding community service.
Throughout his years at Rockledge, Rich has helped countless golfers improve their game through lessons and clinics as well as encouragement on and off the course. He is particularly respected for his efforts to help build a strong junior golf community through his programs, camps and professional example.
Bob Ellison, P.G.A. - Assistant Golf Professional
Bob has been a PGA member for over 30 years. Throughout that time, he worked at Neipsic Golf Club, Portland Golf Club, Shuttle Meadow Country Club, Blue Fox Run, and the last several years as Assistant Pro at Rockledge.
Bob has given over 10,000 lessons to men, women, juniors and seniors. Several of his beginner and Junior students have become PGA members themselves. Bob also runs group and corporate clinics. His current lesson roster includes: Full Swing, Short Game, Sand, Putting and Course Management. Bob’s success in teaching students at every level comes not only from his love of the game, but from his career philosophy: “Keep it simple."
Andrew Killoran, P.G.A - Assistant Golf Professional
Andrew grew up in West Hartford, CT. He played on the Conard High School and the University of Connecticut golf teams. In 1998, he began working as an apprentice professional at Rockledge and in 2006 earned his Class A PGA certification. He has become an excellent instructor teaching golfers of all ages and abilities. Andrew is a certified club fitter for both Ping and Mizuno. Andrew resides in West Hartford with his wife Colleen and their three children - AJ, Ashley and Madison.
Kevin C. Smith, Golf Professional Assistant
Kevin graduated West Hartford's Conard High in 2007 and the University of Connecticut in 2012. For the past several years, Kevin has worked for West Hartford Leisure Services at both Rockledge and Buena Vista Golf Courses, and is recognized for the significant role he has played in the golf operation but mainly developing and helping to run the junior golf programs and beginner golf clinics. He also has made a huge impact within the community and state wide with his efforts and work with the Special Olympics. Kevin has served as the 2018 World Games Golf Coach for Team Connecticut and the 2019 World Games Coach for USA.
